Collector Catalog has no user accounts, no database, and no server of its own that stores your records. Your catalog is a spreadsheet held by Google in your own Google Drive, under your account, and it stays there.

What the app stores about you

Nothing on our side. There is no account to create and no profile held anywhere.

Two things are kept locally, in your own browser, and never transmitted to us:

• Which spreadsheet you chose as your catalog, so the app can reopen it.
• A cache of the photographs already downloaded from your Drive, so the app is quick the next time you open it.

Clearing your browser's data for this site removes both. Nothing is lost by doing so: your catalog and your photographs live in your Google Drive, not in the browser.

What Google access the app asks for

Signing in grants one narrow permission, which Google calls drive.file. It covers:

• Files the app itself creates — your catalog spreadsheet and its photo folder.
• Files you specifically hand to the app through Google's own file picker.

It does not allow the app to list the rest of your Drive, open documents you have not chosen, or reach your mail, contacts, calendar or Google Photos. The app reads and writes only the catalog you point it at.

You can withdraw this access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Your spreadsheet and photographs remain in your Drive, readable without the app.

Who your data is shared with

Nobody, by us. Your catalog moves between your browser and Google's servers, under your own Google account. It does not pass through any server of ours, because there isn't one.

To be plain about it: your records are stored on Google's servers, because Google Drive is where they live — the same as any other document you keep there. That relationship is between you and Google, governed by Google's privacy policy, and you can move or delete the file at any time without asking us.

The app is served as a set of static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare records standard request information such as IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. That is hosting infrastructure and is not connected to your catalog or your Google account. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Optional features that contact other services

Some features reach outside Google, and only when you choose to use them:

• Looking a piece up online. Opens a search in a new tab. That search engine sees the search, as it would for anything you type into it.
• Asking an AI about a piece. If you supply your own API key for Anthropic, Google or OpenAI, the details of that one item are sent to the service you chose, under your own account with them, subject to their terms. Prices and valuations are not sent. Your key is stored in your browser and nowhere else.

Neither runs on its own. If you do not use them, nothing leaves Google.

Children

This is a tool for cataloguing collections and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site itself.
